Angle joints DIN 71802 form BS with rivet stud

DIN 71802 angled ball joints consist of a ball socket DIN71805 and a ball stud DIN71803 with a rivet pin. 

Materials

  • Ball socket and stud: carbon steel
  • Alternative: stainless steel AISI303 (1.4305) ; stainless steel  AISI316L (1.4404)
  • Snap ring and safety clip: spring steel 60Si2MnA (C98 UNI EN 10270-1 DH); alternative: stainless steel
  • Gaiter: Neoprene

Surface treated 

  • Zinc plating white & blue passivate (silver/clear) according to EN ISO 4042
  • Chromate treatment (passivation) example on request 

Operating Temperature range

  • -40°C ~ +120°C (-40°F ~ +248°F)
  • -30°C ~ +110°C (-22°F ~ +230°F) (with neoprene protection cap)

Delivery condition

The standard delivery of the angle joints DIN 71802 made of carbon steel is without heat treatment. If higher strength is required, heat treatment angle joints can be ordered on request.

The tensile strength as below after heat treatment
• Ball socket: carbon steel, min. tensile strength Rm = 500 N/mm²
• Ball stud: carbon steel, min. tensile strength Rm = 600 N/mm², ball induction hardened on the surface with a ≥ 52 HRC hardness

Extraction and Insertion force ball-stud and ball-socket

The load values requested for the extraction and insertion of the ball stud from/to the ball socket’s housing with the mounted “R” spring, with the joint free from grease, are indicated in the following table:
